Purple Rocks
So what’s the deal with the purple rocks?

You may have seen LLL rocks at our events or social media pictures of folks painting rocks. So what’s the story?
While our family was grieving London’s death there was an outpouring of love that was holding us together. Two young sisters, Delaney and Rosie Garrett, along with their mom Nancy, wanted to show us that London had touched a much wider world than we could have guessed and let us know that they and a larger community were lifting us up. Each of us found a small rock at our doorsteps…painted purple, with 3 words on them that would launch a legacy.
A simple reminder that we weren’t just changed by London’s death, we were changed by her life.
And so, London rocks began…
More people asked us about them, so we painted more rocks. Lots of people got into the action and began having rock painting parties to have more to give away.
We also began taking them on our adventures, sort of like taking London with us. People began posting pictures of their rocks on their travels with the hashtag #livelikelondon and each picture warms our hearts. Our hope is that these rocks inspire someone to search the words “Live Like London” to find out what it means and learn about London’s story and legacy of helping others.
London rocks have been placed all over the US. She’s been on Disney Adventures, on beaches around the world, mountain tops, and riverbeds. She’s gone internationally to Africa, Asia, Central America, Europe, South America, nearly every continent! We encourage friends to take as many rocks as you like. Put them in places where people can see them easily or hidden off the beaten path as a little surprise when exploring. Keep one for yourself as a reminder. Place one on your desk, in your garden, in your car…wherever you might want a reminder to Live Like London.
And don’t forget to share where London goes with you! Post your rock photos on social media with #livelikelondon in the caption and tag us @livelikelondon on Facebook and @livelike_london on Instagram. You can also email your rock pictures to us at ncobb@livelikelondon.org to add to our gallery below. We look it up often and it makes our hearts happy to see all the wonderful places you’ve taken our girl. We’ve also heard stories of others…strangers…who find them and meet her through the rocks. We believe that they, too, will begin to Live Like London!
